SRV Update

Dear Members Our season is coming to a close with our Robinvale race and our Point Score series completed. We only have the Trans Tasman Challenge to run on 23rd May at Lake Charm. All thought Robinvale went off well the passing of Jai Welch was a tragedy, to lose a family man so young has been hard not only for his family, the broad ski racing community but many other clubs he had been part of in the Echuca area which was made apparent at his funeral. The SRV board met on Wednesday night and have made a donation of $5000 to the trust set up for Jai’s daughter Harper on behalf of SRV members in particular those who had entries in for Saturday afternoon and did not get to race. We encourage members to contribute to the Harper Welch trust, the details of which are on our web site. Our Point Score series is now complete and we are currently calculating the points for class and over all trophies. It is time to get your nominations in for the following full season awards by the 3rd May. Criteria are listed in the notice to crew booklet on our web site. • Scott Dominguez Male Skier of the year • Female skier of the year • Ashley French most improved junior skier under 19 • Club person of the Year Planning of our Presentation night is well underway with the date and venue to be advised in the next few days. The calendar for next season’s events is nearly final and will be on the SRA web site in the very near future. Your board has reviewed the admin role for our club which will become a casual role working in line with SRV needs as the season progresses approx. 2/3 days a week . More information will be available shortly as we seek to find a person for the role. We are to hold an information night after Easter, once a location and date are set we will advise members. Wishing you all safe racing at Mildura, Steve Shipp SRV Chairman
