HELLO EVERYONE October 2012
The 2012 – 13 season is well under way with SRV Aim Autographics Grand Prix 1 and SRV Mercury Marine point score 1 completed. Point score 2 is fast approaching and entries will close Wednesday 10th October 2012.
POINT SCORE INFORMATION
It is unfortunate to see the same people are always relied upon to help out when needed at every event. It takes a lot of helpers to make sure events run for everyone’s enjoyment so please come up early and put your name on the roster.
Breath testing is compulsory for ALL competitors and officials and everyone should make themselves aware of breath testing times – NO late breath testing will be conducted. If you do not attend breath testing you will not race. Random breath testing throughout the weekend will also be conducted.
All skiers must present their helmets for inspection when they come up for breath testing and helmets must have your name clearly marked.
CHANGE TO RACE DAY FORMAT
There has been a change to the point score Race Day Format. Unlimited Inboard 2 Up will now be Race 14A and run on Sunday with Unlimited Junior 2 Up Race 14B. The updated entry form can be downloaded from the web site.
SRV – NATIONAL SAFE & SECURITY JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
With only 7 weeks until our first Junior Development day to be held on Sunday the 18th of November 2012 in Echuca (Sunday after the Barry Beehag) emails have been sent out to previous attendees. It is great to see a lot of interest from people who are new to the sport or have not attended before.
SRV Junior Development days are always great fun with all our skiers achieving new personal best starting from getting up on one ski to learning to ski on a plank of wood and a range of marathon ski’s. It’s also a good opportunity for our new drivers and observers to come along and learn from our experienced drivers, observers and skiers.
The details for our November day are -
Date - Sunday the 18th of November 2012
Time - 9.30am till 4.30pm
Location - All Rivers Run Caravan Park Main Beach (we will launch boats at Headworks boat ramp)
Please download the registration form and waiver from the web site, both documents need to be completed by all skiers who wish to be involved on the day. Please complete the forms, scan and email them back to Chelsea Blight at firstname.lastname@example.org . For all our new Drivers and Observers who wish to attend, please email me your details and I will ensure to place you with an experience team who attend on the day to learn from.
Finally, to all our experienced competitors please help our water ski racing family continue to grow by offering a helping hand for the day, we always require around 8-10 boats, instructors and drivers for the day so please let me know if you are willing to be involved and put a little back into a sport we all get so much enjoyment out of.
Ski Racing Australia offer a come and try membership for $50 allowing new skiers to come along to our Junior Development days and try out our sport. If you have someone you know who is interested in trying our sport, please give me a call to discuss their options and the ‘come and try’ membership.
Please feel free to give me a call on 0408357624 if you have any further queries.
Looking forward to hitting the water on the Mighty Murray river for a day of fun in the sun.

Ski Racing Victoria, along with Ski Racing Australia and the Gannawarra Shire are excited to announce that the Australian Speed and Marathon Championships will once again be held at Lake Charm in the North of Victoria from Friday 11th January to Sunday 13th January 2013.
It has been 4 years since Ski Racing Victoria last held Ski Racing Australia’s most prodigious event and we once again look forward to having the best skiers and boats in the country come down to compete.
With a few small formatting changes to be announced in the near future and the support of both our local and interstate competitors we anticipate making a huge success of the event.
Stay tuned for more announcements coming up.
Please ensure you check with Greg Plummer on 0434 414 462 about your SRV race number, don’t assume that you still have the same race number from the past.
